The Central Pollution Control
Board (CPCB) has several guidelines for controlling dust at crushing plants,
including:
Covering: Cover primary crushers
with tarpaulin, cotton cloth, or other suitable material.
Sprinklers: Install a water
sprinkler system with nozzles that produce small droplets of water. Greenshift
Technologies is regularly providing sprinklers of all types to the crushing
units for their use as per guidelines
Enclosures: Completely enclose
crushers with GI/MS sheets on top and at least three sides from the ground
level.
Bag filters: Use a dry extraction
cum bag filter followed by a cyclone to control emissions.
Transfer points: Fully enclose
all transfer point locations and keep the access doors closed during
operation.
Stockpiles: Spray water on open
stockpiles for aggregates larger than 5 mm. Cover stockpiles for aggregates 5
mm or smaller.
Conveyor chutes: Provide a
properly designed telescopic chute at the ends of conveyors.
Roads: Wet roads regularly to
suppress dust by running water sprinklers.
Water storage: Provide a water
storage tank with adequate capacity.
Pollution control equipment:
Install enough pollution control equipment, such as dust suppression systems,
covers, screens, and sprinklers.
Silos: Keep items in silos or
covered areas to prevent wind-blown.
Stone crushers must also:
Seek approval to establish and
consent to operate (CTO) from the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) , after

to prevent their workers and neighbourhood from health hazards.
